Scope of this Standard

This standard specifies the compulsory requirements for flexible cords, elevator cables, and hoistway cables rated 600 V maximum and electric vehicle cables rated 1000 V maximum and intended for use in accordance with TTS 171: Part 1, Trinidad and Tobago Electrical Wiring Code - Part 1 - Low voltage installations.

This standard covers the following products:

  1. Service cords;
  2. Elevator cables;
  3. Hoistway cables;
  4. Heater cords;
  5. Range and dryer cords;
  6. Cords for decorative lighting;
  7. Tinsel and lamp cords;
  8. Special use cords; and
  9. Electric vehicle cables.
