Scope of this Standard

Gives guidelines for the selection of fabrics for varied uses such as clothing, accessories, household purposes, art and craft and industrial purposes. It is intended for use by teachers, clothing and textile manufacturers, retailers, tailors, seamstresses and consumers. It is not intended to recommend trade names of fabrics but to inform the users of this standard about the characteristics of certain types of fabrics and the purposes for which the fabrics are most suited. This Guide does not attempt to address garment construction.
